STOKELY CARMICHAEL
We argue that Stokely Carmichael’s actions created positive results. He managed to raise the amount of black voters from 70 to 2,600 in one year. He also lead the “Walk Against Fear” after James Meredith had been shot. With the SNCC, he encouraged more of the blacks to rise and support “Black Power”. He believed in “Black Power” but he had no major event that proved a result. He coined the term “Black Power” that inspired the black people to fight for their freedom.
We argue that Carmichael influenced the black’s lives around him. Although, he was not the leader of any main events in history, he was indeed an important part of them. For example, he was one of the many freedom riders, he led the SNCC, and he was an outspoken supporter of “Black Power.”
